About Kandy Royal International School

The field of education has begun to transform rapidly in the recent years, but we believe we are still seeing only the beginnings of change. As an International School in Sri Lanka that is responsible and accountable to our own destiny, we also have to be alert to the changes that are taking place in the education systems around us. From the very inception, Kandy Royal International School took a decision to model our curriculum according to the National Education system. Being subjected to this well researched and time-tested curriculum, our students continue to excel both is school and thereafter. Kandy Royal International School opens its doors to children at 2 ½ years (play school), to providing opportunity for them to develop from Play Group up to GCE Ordinary Level and beyond . The children grow and learn through a holistic all-round learning ethos supported by a team of qualified and well experienced teachers, educators and loving parents. Every child has the opportunity to receive a truly world class education in a disciplined, spiritual and morally uplifting school environment upholding Sri Lankan values and the diversity of our culture. This makes Kandy Royal International School a unique learning experience.

Curriculam

KRIS follows the Sri Lankan GCE O/L syllabuse. Students are taught by graduate and retired Government teachers with vast experience. We hold examinations to determine whether students are suited to the sit for the O/L examinations prior to the main exam. We offer our students the option of choosing either Science, Commerce or Maths.

Co-curricular Activities

Sports are an integral part to any child's education and here at RIS, we encourage our students to participate as much as they can in sports and games. Also, our new Secondary Premises enables us to provide our students with as much space as they want! We take this holistic view of education very seriously and KRIS has dedicated PT teachers.

Library Facilities

Children at our pre-school will also be introduced to dance and music. The basic steps of the Kandyan and Bharata Natyam dancing and ballet will be taught. We also encourage free-style dancing! In our music lessons, the basic notes will be taught along with a few chosen musical instruments. We believe a strong role in a child's development.

Sports Facilities

Kids just want to have fun! Having fun is a very important part of the learning process and we ensure that your child will have time spent outside of their respective class areas. We also have a sandpit where children can merrily wile away hours; though we do strive to ensure that these hours will be additional help for the child's education.
